Child & Adolescent

Your child’s health is paramount. At Tennessee Counseling, we understand that selecting a clinician to provide mental health services for your child is an intense and difficult decision. Thank you for taking a look at our child and adolescent services. We want to help you find the right solutions for your family.

Childhood and adolescence are critical junctures that may determine the course of a life. Children often struggle with emotional disorders that contribute to difficult situations in their lives. During developing years, the experience of divorce or loss may be more than a young person is able to process, especially while keeping up with the academic demands and physical changes.

Through evidence-based therapies, Tennessee Counseling can help your child learn coping skills, understand complex emotions and learn how to express them in a healthy, constructive way.

Some of the therapies may include:

  • Child-centered play therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy

Parents are also supported and the family unit is treated to achieve a better outcome for all.

Tennessee Counseling is uniquely qualified to provide your child with a safe, supervised clinical experience and environment. Our practice works as a cohesive team, providing seamless, coordinated mental health services. In addition to the actual therapeutic intervention, our practice supports clients with a full-time administrative, client process staff, so you and your clinician can focus on helping your child feel better.

The Tennessee Counseling staff includes a professional call center that operates from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

We provide in-house clinical supervision and oversight. Our clinical supervisors are PH.D. level case managers qualified by the state to provide supervision. The administrative staff provide onboarding to ensure clinicians are able to spend their time on therapeutic interventions.

Onboarding includes easy online sign-up, filling of insurance, processing of payment, and case management. In addition, Tennessee Counseling employs full-time IT support and office support. Our offices are designed to provide a calming, distraction-free experience that allows clients to focus on the counseling and therapeutic process.

Our professionals adhere to evidence-based therapeutic models that ensure patient outcomes are quantifiable and measurable. With the team approach, clinicians are able to collaborate with peers, receive professional feedback, and keep progress moving toward a favorable outcome.

Your child’s happiness throughout the growth cycle requires expert knowledge of the complex issues that young people must navigate today. Our clinicians have a deep and thorough understanding of the unique field of child and adolescent psychology and counseling. We take our commitment to each family and child seriously and look forward to providing help and healing for your family.
