What is medication management? Medication management is an outpatient treatment that provides oversight of a client’s prescription medications to help treat psychological and emotional issues.  It may include the initial assessment and prescription of the medication, monitoring of side effects, and ongoing monitoring of the client’s response to a drug.

For many emotional issues, a combination of therapy and medication may be utilized to help individuals overcome difficulties. Medications may be temporary or long-term. Monitoring a client’s response to medications is critical. While many individuals experience tremendous benefits from psychotropic medications, it is especially important to monitor the process at the beginning of a regimen. Regular checkups and assessments are beneficial after adjustments are made and clients are comfortable with their medication.

Having psychological testing, therapy, and medication management all in-house, under one roof, is just one way Tennessee Counseling simplifies your treatment. We don’t task our clients to coordinate between their professional caregivers. Our practice operates a coordinated team, who share information and data.

We provide professional clinical supervision on every case, while maintaining strict rules of confidentiality. Your clinician can discuss medication management with your in-house provider, and vice versa. This allows a more accurate, timely assessment and helps you feel better faster.

Medical prescription needs can be urgent. Tennessee Counseling helps keep the stress of seeking help to a minimum by providing an open call center for extended hours.

The call center is open from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. We also employ a full-time administrative staff that completes paperwork, files insurance, answers frequently asked questions and manages offices.
