Danyelle Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider in the state of Tennessee, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Danyelle holds a Master’s in Psychology with a Minor in Christian Counseling from Liberty University and is pursuing her doctorate in Counseling with a cognate in Traumatology, also from Liberty University. Danyelle is a member of the American Psychological Association, Tennessee Association of Licensed Professional Counselors, American Association of Christian Counselors, and National Certified Counselors.

Danyelle has worked in the field of counseling for over 20 years in private, faith-based, and inpatient, and outpatient settings. Danyelle is certified in trauma, including sexual and PTSD traumas, working with these issues through Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and other evidence based modalities. Danyelle works with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, grief, adoption and infertility issues, relationship and family issues, abuse, ADHD, personality disorders, and has extensive experience in addictions. Danyelle customizes the therapeutic process for each individual by drawing on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques through an integrative approach to utilize the most effective methods available to address each individual client’s needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Logotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.

Danyelle is also a motivational speaker, she enjoys sharing her journey of hope and healing, and presents lectures and training in academic arenas and railroad and airline industries. Danyelle enjoys time with her husband, children, and Golden Retriever. In her spare time you can find her boating, gardening, listening to music, reading, in the mountains, decorating, and spending time with friends and loved ones.
