Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Services Provider. For almost 20 years, she has worked with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings in Texas and Tennessee. Amy believes in the mind-body connection, and the fact that our bodies carry our stories.
When individuals experience chronic and on-going stress, the body and mind can move out of sync, causing a myriad of health and emotional issues. Amy uses a person-centered, holistic approach, which includes trauma-informed practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, Psycho-education and Mindfulness, with a focus on reconnecting the body and mind. Amy has extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and interpersonal violence, and she understands the complexity of these experiences. Amy also has experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, relationship issues, anxiety and depression, in addition to adjusting to life changes.
Amy meets her clients where they are on their journey toward healing. She believes that everyone has the capacity to heal and change with the right insight, support, guidance and tools. Amy works closely with each person to help them increase their self-awareness, expand their ability to practice self-care and healthy coping, and become confident in their own capacity to overcome and thrive. Life can be challenging for so many reasons, but recovery and healing are possible. Amy is passionate about her role in walking alongside individuals as they explore, process, and learn new ways to live a healthy, fulfilling life.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of your healing journey. I look forward to meeting you!”
